As chemists we are trying to copy Nature (its small products) to use them to cure our diseases or improve our lives.
For my PhD in chemistry, I made a small part of a medicine used by Alzheimer patients (people who have dementia).
I obtained a crystal of the product (like table salt crystals). It was then easier to study the 3D structure. That allowed me to have published 3 articles in different international chemistry papers. That was really rewarding.
