About Me:
My name is Georgia and I love sport. I work at Northumbria University and do sport science research. I like football and support Newcastle United (both the men and women’s teams). I also really like athletics. I used to compete in the hurdles when I was younger.

I used to do lots of sports when I younger and then I started coaching children. I am a qualified coach in football, netball, multi-skills, and frisbee.

My Work:
My work is very exciting. I teach (a bit like school but for people who are 18 years old or older) and I also do research.

When I teach it can be in a lecture where I talk to a large group of students (sometimes there’s 300 people) or in a seminar (about 20-30 people) which is a bit like your classroom I think.

I spent a lot of time at school and university:
Ellison Primary School
Springfield Secondary School (this school no longer exists)
South Tyneside College for two years (I did A-levels)
Northumbria University for four years (I did a 3 year BSc in Applied Sport Science and a 1 year MSc in Sport and Exercise Behaviour)
Brunel University for three years (I did a 3 year funded PhD)

Qualifications:
At left school at 16 with 10 G.C.S.E’s. They were calculated differently back then and I got:
- 4 x A’s
- 3 x B’s
- 3 x C ‘s
At 18 I left college with:
- A in Sport Studies
- B in Biology
- C in Sociology
The at university I got:
- 2:1 BSc (Hons) in Applied Sport Science
- Merit in MSc Sport and Exercise Behaviour
- PhD in Sport Psychology and Education

Work History:
My first paid job was in a shop called Woolworths (these shops don’t exist in the UK anymore).
I then worked as a Community Development Coach for the local council. I went into schools and delivered PE and after-school sport classes. I also worked as a football coach for children under 5 years old and as a football referee.
When I left university I worked in a hospital down in London helping people to exercise whilst they were staying in hospital.
I then went to Brunel University to do a PhD (a big research project).
After my PhD I have worked in two universities (York St John and Northumbria).
