Hello, I am Maria. I am a lecturer at Northumbria University, teaching programming, web and software development. My typical day is divided between teaching and research work. I enjoy working with students on software projects.

I live in Newcastle overlooking the Tyne River where the walk pass is down my balcony. Outside of work, I love walking in the nature, photography and travelling to new countries. I love rowing, and fish and chips. I go the gym regularly after work. In weekends, I walk down the river.

My Work:
I work at Northumbria University as lecturer. I am teaching programming, web and software development. I am doing research on Internet of Things (IoT) for the Natural Environment.

In my teaching, I use the latest technologies, such as React for web development. My research on IoT is applied in monitoring air quality and water quality.

Education:
I went to school in France, then had my university degree and Master degree in Computer Science in American-based university in Egypt. Then, I had my PhD in Computer Science at the University of Birmingham UK.

French Bac. (same as GCSE and A levels).
Bsc, MSc and PhD in Computer Science.

Work History:
After my graduation, I worked as software and web developer. Then, Web Project Lead and Teaching Assistant for the British University in Egypt. While doing the PhD, I worked as Demonstrator at the University of Birmingham. After my PhD, I worked as researcher at Lancaster University.
