About Me:
Hello, I’m David and I work for the Royal Air Force.
I live in Carlisle with my wife and daughter.
I enjoy keeping fit and playing sports, mainly Football and Boxing. My teams are Celtic and Man Utd.
In my spare time, I volunteer for STEM and the Royal British Legion. I am also a qualified Boxing Official and help out at military and civilian boxing shows.

Sundays are my favourite day, as its family day and we usually go to the Lake District. I love the Ullswater area and often go camping in Pooley Bridge. I also go to Keswick every Wednesday night, as my daughter is part of Company 25 Theatre Group at Theatre By The Lake.

My Work:
I am currently based at RAF Spadeadam in Cumbria. On a daily basis I work on the SA6 surface to air missile system.
My rank in the RAF is Sergeant and my trade is Electronics Technician. For my job, I manage a team of 10 Technicians who work on the SA6 Surface-to-Air Missile System. I have been in the Royal Air Force for 21 years
The SA6 isnt only based at RAF Spadeadam but we also take it around the UK and Europe for Operations. We are a small but highly skilled team.
We help train RAF pilots and our NATO friends.
I have travelled extensively and been to Afghanistan, aswell as the Falkland Islands several times. -
Education:
I went to school in Port Glasgow and left at 16 as I wanted to go to college. I passed all my exams, with favourite subjects being:- Maths, Physics and P.E.
Higher Education:- HND Electronic Engineering and BSc (Hons) Management of Engineering Technologies

Joined the RAF at 27 years old to become an Electronics Technician. Currently served for 21 years with many more to come.

What did you want to be after you left school?
Footballer would have been a dream but was never anywhere near good enough
Who is your favourite singer or band?
I love live music and go to gigs often. Festivals are best as you get to see loads of different bands over a weekend.

I love a chippy. Fish n chips, gravy, pickled onion, buttered roll and a can of irn bru
