Airbus manufacture satellites and send them up into space on rockets, once they are in space they can send us imagery and data about Earth that help us make better decisions here on Earth.
The information from these satellites has a range of applications, such as keeping our phones connected, monitoring climate change, helping predict the weather, and streaming tv and films.
We are able to get some really detailed images of the Earth from these satellites, such as the ones below. The first image is of the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the second is of the Golden Gate Bridge in California.
Again, these images have been taken from space! That’s like taking a picture of London from Edinburgh.
My role involves helping improve the business aspect of these services, helping to serve our clients who use it to make our lives better.

Education:
Went to a state school where I didn’t take school seriously and spent almost as much time in detention as I did in class.
After considering not going to College, decided to go and study A-levels in Business, Sociology and English where I began to enjoy learning, leading me to work hard and achieve some decent results.
I then went on to Durham University to study Politics and Business, basically looking at how big groups of people work and how businesses work.
My favourite part of this course is studying international relations, which is about how countries get along with each other (or don’t).
I have been studying this for 2 years before beginning my current role, after a year here I will return to University to finish my degree.
-
Qualifications:
10 GCSEs in Maths, English Language, English Literature, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, German, I.T. & Sport.
4 A-Levels in Business Studies, Sociology, English Language & Extended Project Qualification
Currently 2 years into a Combined Honours degree in Politics & Business from Durham University.

Work History:
My first Job was at 14, sticking up pins for a skittles alley at a local pub.
I then began working as a Newspaper Deliverer, getting up at 5am on weekends to deliver newspapers on my bike.
Moved on to work as a Store Assistant in a large discount store where I balanced 32 hour weeks with college, working my way up to becoming Lead Sales.
Then went on to work in a corner store as a Customer Service Assistant before leaving to move to University.
Started working with Durham University’s I.T. department as a Student Digital Leader where I helped identify software bugs and provide feedback on digital projects.
Following this I worked as a Finance Assistant for Oxfam, where I helped manage the finances for all of Oxfam’s shops in the UK.
Then worked as a Evaluation Task Force Consultant for the Cabinet Office, helping the government assess how effective their policies had been, before starting my current role at Airbus.
